Stone Age Online Tournament Rules:

This is a 2 Player tournament consisting of 2 rounds.
  • Round 1 will be pool play.  Pool play will consist of six games for each player.  (2 vs. each pool opponent)
  • Round 2 will be an x player round robin to crown a champion.  It is my plan to take the top 2 players from each pool - this may vary based on number of players.  If we have one 3 player pool, I will only take the top player in that pool.

Pool Play:
Players will be placed randomly into pools of 4.  If the numbers don't allow, we will have a pool of 3. Pools will be created randomly in the first Round, though family members and friends may request placement in different pools BEFORE pools are announed.  The top 2 players in each pool will move on to the the Championship Round Robin and will be seeded based on record and margins of victory.  If a 3 player pool exists, only the winner of that pool will advance.

It will be up to the players to set up the games - however you see fit.  I will post a spreadsheet with the pools when they are set up.  You will play each member of your pool in TWO games.  If one player wants to set up both games, that's fine with me as long as it's fine with both players.
Round Robin and Finals:
Players in the round robin will start single games with the higher seed in charge of setting up the game.  The Championship Finals will be a best 2 of 3 matchup.  Each player will start 1 game and if a 3rd is necessary, the higher seed will start that game.
When a game ends:
When a game ends, it is the responsibility of the game winner to email the GM a screenshot of the final score.  If you've never taken a screenshot before, or do not have access to To do this, simply click shift-print screen to capture the screen.  Open Microsoft Word, click the edit menu and select paste.  Email the word file to the GM.
If that is not possible, email the GM and accomodations will be attempted within reason.

Pool Play Points:
I will keep track of win/loss records online and post results.

Pool Play Tiebreakers in order of how they will be applied:

  • Margin of Victory/Defeat
    • I will calculate the total difference in points where needed -- if Derek beats Bob 100-50, Derek beats Matt 100-50, Derek loses to Paul 100-75, his overall margin is 75.  +50 against Bob, +50 against Matt, -25 against Paul.

  • Total Points scored in all heat games.
